Horizon Lanka Foundation’s educational goal posts have widened over the years. Starting with just basic English, the school has now expanded and has been recently re-launched as Horizon Lanka Academy. Horizon Lanka Academy teaches English and ICT now. The Academy Headmaster Mr M B Illangasinghe has great visions for this institute. As well as providing strong educational skills, HLA's mission is “to offer society a more practical, efficient and morally developed individual, who can face the challenges of modern day living and the Information Age.”

The importance of English for the children’s futures is great. One of the current projects running, eMentors, pairs each child with an English speaking adult around the world. The children are encouraged to send stories and essays to their eMentors, who in turn will correct the English for them.

Horizon Lanka Library houses an assortment of literature and factual books in Sinhala and English for use by the community.
